Stolen Movie Review: A Promising Thriller That Struggles to Deliver Consistent Impact

Stolen, featuring Abhishek Banerjee in a new action-packed role, starts with an engaging setup — two brothers caught in an escalating crisis against a backdrop that highlights India’s social contrasts. The film opens on a tense note: Gautam (Banerjee) waits in his luxury SUV near a train station at night, awaiting his younger brother Raman (Shubham Vardhan), when suddenly, a baby is abducted from a sleeping woman nearby.
Despite its intention to build urgency and suspense, the film only manages to evoke that intensity in parts. While the premise is strong and socially relevant, the storytelling lacks consistency. The thriller tries hard to be gripping but falls short of maintaining momentum, making it feel narrower in scope than it initially promises.
